As I’m about to complete another orbit around the sun, I’m excited to announce that I’ll return to school in the fall to pursue my dream of becoming a therapist.
For years, I felt drawn to the field of psychology and counseling. But it was my experience as an immigrant that opened my eyes to the importance of mental health. Adapting to a new culture, navigating unfamiliar systems, and expanding one’s identity can be overwhelming.
Returning to school as a working adult is scary. As the Dean at Fortune, I’m committed to meeting the demands of the job with excellence. But I believe in the power of pursuing a dream. I’m also convinced that my unique experiences can help those going through similar challenges. In a world where mental health issues are becoming more prevalent, I want to be part of the solution.
Becoming a therapist is a way to make a positive impact on the world. For this reason, I’m excited to share that I’ll be documenting my journey towards becoming a therapist through my blog. I hope my posts will encourage others to pursue their passion, no matter big or small.
